Annealing kilns.-The fire-place B of an annealing-kiln is placed at the centre of the back of the furnace, and the flues C1, C2, C3, C4 at each corner communicate with the main flue E at a central point D. The door F at the front of the furnace is placed on one side, affording a stronger roof.
