Jib-cranes.-The lower end of the jib a is adjustable in vertical guides which are adjustable horizontally or it may itself be capable of a combined vertical and horizontal movement. As shown in Fig. 1, the jib is pivoted on a crosshead which can be adjusted in vertical guides d carried by a sliding carriage e. In one modification, the cross-head moves in inclined guides, and in another modification the jib is carried by a crank-arm or disc.
