Guards.-The bobbin skew-gear wheels of roving and like speed frames are provided with guards comprising segmental plates f, supported in grooves in brackets g secured to the lifter-rail and provided with straight parts : i engaging the ordinary side plates e. Plates m secured to the depending rib of the lifter rail, in conjunction with the plates f, completely enclose the gear wheels.
