July 19, 1920. jointing tub e s to headers.-Radiator tubes 4 are secured to the top and bottom tube plates 1 by splitting the metal of the plates where the hole is to be formed into a number of tongues 3 which are subsequently forced backwards and soldered to the tube. The tongues may also be formed on a separate boss or nipple secured to the tube plates.
