Abstract

169,401. Richey, J. I. Dec. 2, 1920. Vaporizers, external.-The induction pipe 4 of a four-cylinder engine is heated at starting by pouring hot water or sand into a sheet-metal hopper which surrounds the pipe. The pipe has a lap joint 11 at one end which may be closed with packing or solder. A clamp 13 keeps it tight at the bottom.
