Insect traps.-A device for trapping or destroying the larvµ of flies comprises a vessel 1 in which bait is placed to attract flies to deposit their eggs, one or more troughs 2 being arranged around the inner surface of the vessel to contain soot or other powder or liquid to destroy or prevent the passage of the larvµ. The trough 2 may be formed separately from the vessel and constructed with a rim to rest upon the edge of the vessel, and an annular lid 3 may be fitted over the trough. Projecting arms 4 may be carried by the trough to support a cover 5 which conceals the bait. The troughs may be arranged in a separate chamber or passage fitted or attached to the baitcontaining vessel. According to the Provisional Specification, the vessel may have a neck portion into which one end of an annular chamber fits, carrying a plate to close partially the neck of the vessel or the upper end of the chamber, leaving an annular inlet, and to carry a bait-holder beneath it. The troughs are formed by bending the wall of the chamber to form an exterior trough at the bottom and an interior trough at the top thereof.
