Abstract

168,423. Eberhardt, r. June 4, 1920. Inking-apparatus.-In a box or holder for an inking or damping pad for rubber stamps, the pad is normally covered by a sliding cover which is pushed upwards by the stamp and returns by gravity. As shown, the box 1, supported in inclined position by feet 3 and containing a pad 2, is formed with guides 4 for a sliding cover 5 having a flange 6 against which the stamp is pushed. The cover may run on rollers and a spring catch may be provided for holding open the cover. The box may be divided by a partition 7. In a modification, two converging covers are provided, the lower edges of which meet at the middle of the pad and are formed with flanges between which the stamp is thrust.
