Abstract
166,299. Bijvoet, W., and Delton, J. Feb. 11, 1920. Moulds.-A collapsable core for making holes in concrete or similar material comprises three or more angle-irons 1, Fig. 3, with their flanges bent to the requisite angle, and intermediate plates 2 pressed by springs into contact with two adjacent flanges. The angle-irons are mounted near one end on pivots 3 carried by a piece 5 supported on a central spindle 6 between fixed cbllars 8. The plates 2 are mounted on pivots 4 also carried by the piece 5. Near the other end of the core the angle-irons are connected by curved slotted arms 12, Fig. 4, with a nut 11 mounted on a screwed part of the spindle 6. The slots 16 on the arms engage pins 17 on a piece 10 mounted at the end of the spindle. The plates 2 have eyes 19 through which pass guide-bars 18 attached to the flanges of the angle-irons. The device is supported in position on wooden blocks, and is secured thereto by clamps mounted on the plates 2.
