Abstract
165,575. Houghton-Butcher Manufacturing Co., Ltd., and Denniss, A. J. April 15, 1920. Cameras, roll-film; cases and carriers for; special materials for.-A sheet-aluminium roll-film collapsable camera body constructed without jointing- material consists of an inner portion enclosed by closely fitting and abutting front and back cover portions, the inner portion comprising at least the exposure frame and the two spool troughs. In the construction shown in Figs. 1, 2, and 3, the inner portion A, made from one piece of sheet aluminium, consists of the exposure frame 1 and two spool troughs 2, 3. The exposure frame 1 is stiffened by a rib 4, which also ensures the necessary clearance between the frame and the back cover C for the passage of the film. The front portion B consists of a tray with an aperture corresponding to the exposure frame 1, this aperture being formed by bending up two wing pieces 12 suitably flanged so that they may be secured to the front face of the exposure frame by rivets. The two cover portions B, C, when fitted together, as shown in section in Figs. 6 and 7, completely enclose the inner portion A. The bellows is secured to the front of the cover portion B. In some modifications the inner portion is made with approximately semicircular spool troughs and is built up in sections, while in other modifications the inner portion is developed by bending only from a sheetmetal blank, the front portion being modified as necessary. Specifications 6754/99 and 7360/99 are referred to.
