Abstract
162,126. Utley, T. Feb. 12, 1920. Cabin lights.-In ships' lights in which the glass-holder is hinged to the main frame and is provided with retaining-lugs receiving swinging eye-bolts which are pivoted to the main frame, the outer surface of the retaining-lugs A<2> are equally bevelled or inclined so that the swinging eye-bolts D assume an inclined position relatively to the main frame, thus centralizing the angle of pull so that the glass holder is automatically centred on its seating. The holder may be circumferentially notched to reduce weight, as described in Specification 113,023, and the glass-holder may be provided with a flange constructed as described in Specification 147,333 to engage the usual rubber packing. The invention is equally applicable to dead-lights and a closing-plate may be fitted between the main frame and the glass-holder.
