Abstract
158,090. Davies, D. E., Bean, W., Bean, G. W., and Bean, H. Oct. 28,1919. Power cultivation of land. -In cultivating-apparatus in which electricity is applied to the soil through the medium of the cultivating-implement, means are provided for generating an electric current and causing it to pass through the soil for a relatively short distance which remains uniform during the progress of the implement. In the arrangement shown, a plough 2 is coupled to a tractor 1 by an insulated connection 4 and one pole of a dynamo 3 on the tractor is earthed and the other connected by an insulated conductor 5 to the implement 2, or to the cultivating-part 6, so that. the current passes through the implement and returns to the dynamo through the earth. The implement may comprise a number of pointed conductors for distributing the current. The wheels and frame of the implement may be insulated.
