Hooks fixed to walls and flat surfaces. - A device for supporting climbing plants &c. consists of an open plain or U- shaped hook provided integrally with one or more fixing eyes, loops, or hooks, arranged at right angles to the main hook so as to lie flat against a wall or fence when a nail is driven in. It is made of aluminium or other wire or strip material. Fig. 2 shows a simple hook e formed of flattened oval wire which is twisted and bent at the end to form an eye b to receive a nail c, about which the device is free to turn. Fig. 3 shows a support provided with two hooks e and two eyes b, the stem a being cranked outwards. There may be more than two hooks e, and the stem a may consist of two wires an inch or two apart. An additional hook may be formed near the fixing eye, to hook on a wire or to receive the plant. In a modification, the two hooks are formed near the two eyes and the stem is not cranked outwards. The devices may be formed from metal strip of U-shaped section.
