Abstract

A filter housing composed of an upper part (1) and a lower part (2) is intended to be constructed simply, robustly and compactly in such a manner that reliable and rapid exchange of the filter element (9) is possible. For this purpose, the parts of the filter housing are composed of standardised elements made of steel, which elements are joined together by welds (24), that is the upper part (1) is composed of a first tube section (1b), a top dished end (1a) and a threaded ring (10) and the lower part (2) is composed of a second tube section (2b), a bottom dished end (20) and a closure ring (17). Inlet and outlet orifices comprise pipe sockets (5 and 25) which are in turn joined to the tube section (1b) by welds (24). The filter element (9) is screwed into a moulding (7) which is mounted on a pipe bend (6) permanently welded onto the inlet pipe socket (5) and which moulding is supported below by a distance plate (18) which is arranged on a mounting (19) attached in the bottom dished end (20). A union nut (3) screwed onto the threaded ring (10) joins the upper part (1) and lower part (2). <IMAGE>
