Abstract

155,487. Olding, S. H. Feb. 26, 1920. Reciprocating sieves.-An ash, coal, or cinder sifter comprises a casing containing two sliding and removable sieves D, D' of box shape and a removable receptacle A<3> for receiving the residue, the material to be sifted being introduced through a normally-closed flap or door B which can be held in the open position by means of an arm or lever B<1>. The receptacle A<3> is accommodated in an enlarged portion of the casing in order to prevent dust from falling between the sides of the receptacle and the casing. The casing is provided with a hinged back A, and the sifting-boxes can be reciprocated on slides E by means of rods extending through holes in the front of the casing.
