Abstract
The lens is built up symmetrically from six elements, the outer elements (4, 14) being fixed and the inner elements (6, 8; 10, 12), which are connected in pairs, being displaceable symmetrically relative to one another along the optical axis (16) for the purpose of varying the focal length. The parameters of the elements are selected such that the image field remains virtually plane over the entire range of the focal length. The rear half of the lens can be replaced by a plane mirror, thus producing a mirror lens having the same properties as the said six-member lens. The two lenses are used, in particular, in the production of photocopiers. <IMAGE>
