Live-bait tackle; spinning tackle.-For fishing with prawns, shrimps, &c., a metal wire centre-pin a is inserted in the breast and passed through the body and a tail cap f, the end projecting beyond the tail. The wire is bent into a loop b, or a small plate may be affixed to it, to form a stop, then bent to the shape of the breast and its end connected to the shanks of hooks c. A trace d with hooks e is detachably connected to the hooks c, and passed through a hole in a lug g of the tail cap f. The centre-pin and the tail-cap are locked to the trace by means of a sliding hook h, having two eyes in its shank through which the trace d is passed being twisted round the shank between the eyes, and one eye, or an additional eye formed in the shank, is passed over the end of the centrepin. A modification consists of a piece of wire bent into the shape shown in Fig. 3, a loop k encircling the tail of the bait and the trace d passing through loops m. The tail-cap f, or the loop k, may be provided with spinning fins.
