Shovels.-A sifting-shovel for potatoes and like roots comprises a U-shaped frame a constructed from a strip of metal, the front open side of the frame being closed by a transverse metal strip b welded at each end to the internal faces of the ends of the frame. The strip b and the rear transverse portion of the frame a have holes punched in them at intervals to receive the extremities.of a number of rods c bent to form the sieve-like bottom of the implement, the ends of these rods then being riveted over. The middlerod f is preferably formed by a flat member forked at its rear end. In another modification the middle member f is formed integral with the handle socket, the frame a passing though a slot in this member.
