Abstract

Wood is treated with a fungicide comprising one or more of the following compounds: N-(1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethylthio)-N-phenylmethanesulphonamide, N,N-dimethyl-N'-(1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethylthio)-N'-phenylsulphamide and N-(1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethylthio)phthalimide. These compounds are less toxic and are easier to produce than their fluorinated homologues, while having a comparable fungicidal activity against the fungi which attack wood.
