Abstract
1537366 Helicopter landing skids; walking mechanism A A C MARCH 19 May 1977 [20 May 1976] 20853/76 Headings B7G and B7H A helicopter skid undercarriage has movable feet 6 to facilitate ground movement. The feet and skids 2 have opposed inclined surfaces 12, 14, 16, 18 with inflatable bags 8, 10 disposed therebetween when either bags 8 or 10 are inflated the feet 6 are forced into engagement with the ground causing the skids 2 to slide along the ground. Upon deflation of the bags, the feet return to their initial position (shown) under the action of springs 24.
