1537098 Heat insulating material GRUNZWEIG HARTMANN UND GLASFASER AG 28 May 1976 [30 May 1975] 22247/76 Heading C1J A high-temperature-resistant heat insulating material (capable of withstanding a temperature in excess of 500‹ C.) in the form of a bulk material which is capable of being pressed to form a panel (i.e. a particulate, flowable material, e.g. gravel or grit, containing at least one component capable of exerting adhesion force so that the material can be pressed into, and retain the form of, a panel) contains an opacifying agent which has the crystallographic structure of corundum, or a vitreously solidified material which, if crystallized, would contain crystals having the crystallographic structure of corundum (hexagonal rhombohedral). Opacifying agents specified include pyrophonite (MnTiO 3 ), geikielite (MgTiO 3 ), ilmenite (FeTiO3) which may be contaminated by chemically bound manganese, and high refractive index glasses, e.g. those that contain TiO 2 .
