Abstract
1537028 Rotary switches PLESSEY CO Ltd 21 June 1976 [19 June 1975] 26083/75 Heading H1N A rotary switch comprises an insulating cupshaped casing 1 carrying a contact structure 4 and a rotary insulating body 8 mounted on a spindle (not shown) and carrying contact members 10, the structure 4 comprising a ring part 5 seated on the internal end wall 6 of the casing and bladed parts 7 accommodated in longitudinally extending recesses 2 in the casing, the body 1 having openings (not shown) through which parts of the contact structure connecting bladed parts with the ring part can be severed by a suitable tool, to be subsequently interconnected by members 10 as the body 8 is rotated. The body 8 is retained by a member 13 and supported on a spindle (not shown) extending through openings in member 13 and end wall 6 of casing 1. A number of such switches secured together by inter-engaging castellated edges can use a common spindle.
