1536108 Cation exchangers by polymerization in silicones INST VYSOKOMOLEKULYARNYKH SOEDINE AKAD NAUK SSSR 2 May 1977 18302/77 Heading C3P Carboxylic cation exchangers are produced by (1) dissolving a mixture of (a) acrylic or methacrylic acid and (b) a compound selected from hexahydro-1,3,5-triacryloyl triazine, N,N<SP>1</SP>- methylene diacrylamide, N,N<SP>1</SP> - ethylene dimethacrylamide and N,N<SP>1</SP> - hexamethylene dimethacrylamide, in 5-50% aqueous acetic acid in a weight ratio of (a) to (b) of 3 ; 1 to 12 : 1 and at a concentration of 10-30% and (2) dispersing this solution in a liquid polyethylsiloxane or polymethyl phenyl siloxane at a weight ratio of solution to siloxane of 1 : 3 to 1 : 5, and finally polymerizing at 20-100‹ C.
