Abstract
1535509 Monitoring vibration; rotor imbalance REYROLLE PARSONS Ltd 9 Dec 1975 [20 Dec 1974] 55216/74 Heading G1X Dynamic characteristics of a rotor 1 having two or more bearings 3, 4 are monitored during operation under normal conditions by observing the amplitude and phase of vibrations at a bearing 3, 4 or support 5, 6 produced by a temporary radial force applied at a fixed circumferential location on the rotor, removing and re-applying the same force at the same location, re-observing the vibrations and comparing the two observations, the force being produced by eccentric troughs 8, 9 filled with liquid (not shown) which is allowed to escape via a radial hole in the troughs 8, 9.
