Abstract

1534487 Aerials MATRA 19 Oct 1977 [22 Oct 1976] 43591/77 Heading H4A An aerial system particularly suitable for use in a geosynchronous satellite comprises a reflector 11 fed by offset primary sources 12, 13, 14 and 15 such as horns such that each primary source illuminates a predetermined portion of the earth's surface. The primary sources are fed by respective multiplexers 16, 25, 26, 27 each in the form of a set of band-pass filters for frequency channels F 1 to F n . Frequencies F 1 to F n are supplied by respective transmitters and fed to the multiplexers by switches and power dividers so arranged that differing frequency channels feed a differing predetermined primary source or sources and hence illuminate differing portions of the earth's surface, see Fig. 3 (not shown).
