Abstract
1534443 Echo sounders ELECTROACUSTIC GmbH 16 Jan 1976 [16 Jan 1975] 01824/76 Heading G1G In an echo sounder having two temporary stores 9, 10 into one of which echo signals are stored during an echo period and from the other of which echo signals, stored in the previous period, are read out and fed to an indicator, and in which the roles of the two stores are reversed after each echo period by an electrically or electronically controllable device 7, 71, 72 there is provided a switching means 1-6 controllable by the echo signal voltage to prevent the device from operating if the said voltage does not exceed a given threshold. If the echo signal is lost or too weak, the previously read-in signal is repeatedly read out and prevents flicker on a CRT display (not shown). Continued loss of echo signal activates coil 7 on the changeover device to result in a blank display. Shifting of the depth range inspected also triggers coil 7 to provide an uninterrupted display of the previous echo sounding.
