Abstract

The use of the telecommunications system is extended by providing switching devices of this system with single modules which can be used as multiplexers or concentrators. They can be accommodated in the exchange itself, at a point which is connected by a time division multiplex connection path to the exchange or in the subscriber equipment. The role of each module is to allocate time division multiplex channels to calling lines and then to enable access to the selected channel. This is done by counting a preset counter back to zero. <IMAGE>
