Abstract

1533024 Internal glazing of pipes SCHNEIDER & CO 25 March 1976 [27 March 1975] 12000/76 Heading B2L [Also in Division B5] A device for internal glazing of a stoneware pipe 7 during its production by extrusion comprises an extrusion core 8 past which pipe material is extruded, a rotary disc 10 rotatably mounted on said bell 8, and a duct 15 arranged along or in a strut 14 which holds the bell 8 in position, the duct in use being supplied with liquid glaze which is fed to disc 10 and thrown outwards as a spray 19 which coats the pipe. The rim of disc 10 may be tapered to a sharp edge, may have a saw-tooth configuration, or may have a lip behind which glaze builds up before being projected outwardly. The disc may be driven by an electric motor 12 as shown, or by a pneumatically driven motor.
