Abstract

1532844 Automatic voltage control INDESIT INDUSTRIA ELETTRODOMESTICI ITALIANA SpA 7 Oct 1976 [9 Oct 1975] 41646/76 Heading G3R A DC voltage regulating circuit for a television receiver has a series control element connected to an output voltage sensor. The control element is shunted to reduce its dissipation and a current or voltage limiting device is connected to the sensor to protect it under no load conditions. As shown, a series regulating transistor 4 is shunted by a resistor 3 and is controlled by a transistor 11 responsive to a Zener diode voltage 12 and a proportion of the output voltage tapped from a potentiometer 7. The transistor 11 is protected by a second Zener diode 10 which has a breakdown voltage about 2 volts higher than the Zener diode 12. In modifications, the diode 10 can be connected between the base and emitter of the transistor 11, or may be replaced by a voltage dependent resistor or diode chain.
