Abstract

1532622 Protractors C A WILLIS 2 Oct 1975 [5 July 1974] 30018/74 Heading G1X A protractor, principally for use with maps, comprises a transparent or translucent plate-like member having degree markings, one or more grid squares and an elongate aperture. The three grid squares are equal in size to those commonly used on maps and are positioned with the base and top lines of the centre square aligned with the base lines of the other two. Inch and centimetre scales are along opposed sides of the aperture and compass markings supplement the degree markings. A hole (not shown), at the centre may be provided for use in indicating the sun's shadow or as a clinometer.
