Abstract

1532293 Abrading DEFENCE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR 14 June 1977 [17 June 1976] 25243/76 Heading B3D [Also in Division H1] In the formation of a pyroelectric vidicon target, a pyroelectric platelet 31 is grooved by a cutting tool 19 having a series of parallel cutting ridges (23) (Fig. 1, not shown), the tool 19 and platelet 31 being supported by an inclined plate 7 provided with a reference shoulder 15 and the platelet 31 or tool 19 being supported by a shoe 33 abutting the reference shoulder and mounted on a linearly moveable rod 39. After a first series of grooves have been cut the platelet is turned through 90 degrees to cut a second series of grooves extending at 90 degrees to the first series.
