1530507 Cable splice cover J T THOMPSON & G W GILLEMOT 24 May 1976 21506/76 Heading H2E Parts for forming an enclosure 10 about a joint between two cables 12, 13 comprise two resilient longitudinally split tubes 15, 15 each with a cylindrical end portion 21 and a tapered end portion 20, a locking strip 18 of H-crosssection for each, the strip and edges of the slits in the tubes being shaped (see Fig. 3) to fasten the tubular members about the cables' ends, a resilient longitudinally slit sleeve 16 to fit over the two cylindrical portions 21 and a further split sleeve 17 for acting as a cover for an opening 38, left after mounting the parts about the joint. Through opening 38, potting compound may be injected or air escape if the potting compound is injected via the ends of the tapered portions 20.
