Abstract

1530301 Eudoprosthetic interphalangeal bone joint NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORP 30 Jan 1976 [31 Jan 1975] 4423/75 Heading A5R An interphalangeal endoprosthetic bone joint has a cast metal male component with a tapered stem 11 having at its wider end on respective sides thereof a pair of co-axial discs 13 with convex bearing surfaces 14 and a moulded plastics female component with a tapered stem 21 having at one end on respective sides a part-toroidal concave surface 24 of greater than 180‹ angular extent to receive the discs 13 as a snap fit. Both the convex surfaces of the discs and the surfaces 24 are concave in transverse axial cross-section, and the medial radial planes are offset relative to the stem axes.
