Abstract
1529788 Plug and socket protector J B RANKIN 10 Oct 1975 [10 July 1974] 30484/74 Heading H2E A protective cover for an electrical plug and socket comprises a locating member, for securing to the socket, and a housing which engages the locating member so as to prevent access to the plug. The frame like locating member 11 (Fig. 5) is made of two identical parts 31 and 33, made of metal, and each member consists of a centre portion 39, two arms 35 and 37, their thickness being half that of the centre portions and a screw locating member 41. Each arm has a hollow 43 and a projection 45 for fitting the two parts together (Fig. 6). The locating member 11, when in position (Fig. 1), extends beyond the edges of the plate 3 of the socket 1. The housing 15 snap-fits on the locating member, and may be provided with integral lugs on the inside surfaces for fixing it to the locating member 11. The locating member, in alternative embodiments may be made of one piece, resilient or rigid.
