Abstract
1528300 Automatic exchange systems STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd 23 Aug 1977 35267/77 Heading H4K In an exchange in which junctors, registers and subscribers lines are connected to one side of the network, e.g. as in TXE4, and wherein a calling subscriber line is first connected via the network to a register sender RS, e.g. path 1, 2, path selection for a call capable of using any free one of a group of outgoing junctions OGJ is performed such that a path 3, 4 is selected between the calling line and a free one of the group of junctors and then a path 5, 6 between the register sender RS and the particular junctor is selected and set up. On completion of sending the paths 1, 2, 5, 6, are dropped and the preselected path 3, 4 switched through. This order for the path selection is said to reduce the probability of the call being blocked.
