1526895 Cutting apparatus SIG SCHWEIZERISCHE INDUSTRIE GES 16 May 1977 [29 June 1976] 20427/77 Heading B4B An apparatus for cutting one or more layers of sheet material 10 comprises at least one rotary knife edge disc 3 disposed opposite a counterholder 8 having a control opening 13 connectible to a supply of compressed air such that in use, air passing through the opening presses sheet material lying between the disc and counterholder against the periphery of the disc. The knife disc is clamped against a cover disc 4 having a cam portion 7 adapted to prevent that portion of the knife edge of the disc covered by the cam from cutting the material when the latter is pressed against the disc by air pressure.
