Abstract

1525853 Milking machines SOMERSET MILKING PARLOURS Ltd 16 Dec 1975 [15 Jan 1975] 1808/75 Heading AIM [Also in Division F2] An on/off valve for a milking apparatus has a housing 10 for two side-by-side bodies 12, 14 in which butterfly members 24 operate controlled by side-by-side handles 28. As shown the rubber-bodies have rubber end plugs 20 with stainless steel spigots 22 to fit the internal diameter of vacuum and milk transfer pipes, typically ¢" and ¥" diameter respectively. The valve members may preferably be polypropylene, carried on spindles 26 and keyed by grooves and ribs (47, 49) Fig. 6 (not shown). The housing, as shown, Fig. 4 has a base 11 with walls 13 to receive the bodies which are enclosed by half covers 19 held by screws 31 on a tube. The back of the base has crossed channels (35, 37) Fig. 5 (not shown) with strips (39) by which the housing may be attached to a mounting tube extending either horizontally or vertically.
