Abstract
1525463 Radiography EMI Ltd 10 Nov 1975 [20 Nov 1974] 50229/74 Heading H4F [Also in Division G1] In a radiological examination apparatus of the type in which a fan-shaped swath of radiation from a source 1 is passed through a planar section of a body 2 and the transmitted rays are detected by scintillators 4, the source 1 and scintillators 4 being orbited about an axis 5 perpendicular to the section, each scintillator 4 has a light-guide 7 leading to an output 8, the outputs 8 being arranged close to the input of a light-sensitive detector 10, which can be a multi-channel device or a plurality of single channel devices, the detector 10 remaining stationary while the source, scintillators and light-guides rotate. A scintillator 11 adjacent the source 1 and a light-guide 12 are provided for calibration.
