Abstract
1525285 Supported naphtha-reforming catalysts STANDARD OIL CO 17 Sept 1975 [20 Sept 1974] 38184/75 Heading B1E [Also in Divisions B5 and C5] Catalyst particles have a substantially spherical shape with a single void centre and a single opening in the external surface communicating with the centre. They may be made by dropping a slurry of powdered support material onto a bed of a powder which is not wet by the liquid phase of the slurry and allowing the droplets to air dry on the surface of the powder, with optional accelerated drying by means of e.g. a heat lamp. After drying the hollow particles are removed and freed from particles of the bed powder by gentle vibration or by washing and active material may be added conventionally.
