1523979 Purifying alkali metal hydroxide GENERAL ELECTRIC CO 31 March 1976 13126/76 Heading CIA Chlorate impurity in alkali metal hydroxide is reduced by reaction of an aqueous solution of alkali metal hydroxide and chlorate with hydrogen in the presence of a ruthenium catalyst at a temperature above 100‹ C. and at an elevated pressure.
