1523332 Interference filters STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd 26 Feb 1976 [6 March 1975] 9349/75 Heading G2J An interference filter comprises a stack of two or more transparent bodies having optical flat surfaces, each two being separated by annular spacers so as to define one or more cavities which contain a fluid of refractive index below that of said bodies, each said body having an optical thickness equal to an odd number of quarter wavelengths of the mean wavelength of the filter pass band and each cavity having an optical thickness equal to an integral number of half wavelengths of said beam wavelength. The annular spacers may be formed of Piezo-electric material so that the optical thickness of each cavity may be adjusted.
