Abstract

1522942 Copolymerization of ethylene and carbon monoxide ATLANTIC RICHFIELD CO 6 April 1977 14594/77 Heading C3P Ethylene and carbon monoxide are copolymerized using as initiator a peroxy ester of an organic acid, which ester has a ten hour half life temperature determined in 0À2 m. benzene solution not greater than 60‹ C. In the examples the copolymerization is carried out in hexane, benzene, acetonitrile, dioxan or hexane plus water as diluent using t-butyl peroxypivalate or 2,5 - dimethyl - (2,5 - diperoxyneopentanoate)hexane as initiator.
