Abstract

1522666 Container traffic vehicle loading K KLAUS 20 Sept 1975 38701/75 Heading B8Q [Also in Division B7] A vehicle has container loading devices 2, 3 at the ends of its deck between which a spreader 6 is suspended by cables 13, 14 and is adjustable in length by piston-cylinder units 9, 10. Each loading device comprises telescopic supports 15, 16 extendable by piston-cylinder units 17, 18 and mounts a jib 4, 5 having slidably interlocking parts 19-21 extendable to either side of the vehicle to position the loading handling device 22 from which the spreader 6 is suspended over a container. Extension of the jib is effected to either side by one of the piston cylinder units 29, 30 on a sub-frame 31 secured to the part 20. The parts 19-21 are connected by cables 23, 24, Fig. 3 as is similarly the part 22. Extension of the ram 29 will thus effect extension of the parts 19-22 as shown which extension of the ram 30 will cause extension to the other side of the vehicle. The extension of the supports 16, 17 enables up to three containers to be stacked on the vehicle.
