Abstract
1522044 Propelling elevators MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG-NURNBERG AG 1 March 1976 [4 March 1975] 07985/76 Heading B8L An electro-hydraulic drive for a lift cage 1 mounted on a piston 3 in an hydraulic cylinder 2 comprises an electric motor driven pump 7 for delivering hydraulic fluid to the cylinder 2 through a controllable non-return valve 5, the upwards and downwards velocity of the cage 1 being effected solely by regulation of the rotational speed of the pump 7 and by substantially all the working fluid being passed through the pump during both directions of travel of the cage. An electrical signal representing the desired velocity of the cage 1 is fed through a switch 17 into a desired valve setter 16 and is added to an electrical signal relating to the actual velocity of the cage 1, this being derived either from a tachogenerator 18 coupled through a rope 19 to the cage or from a flow meter generator 24 between the pump 7 and the valve 5 the added signals forming a deviation signal which controls the speed of the pump motor 10 through a high amplification controller 22 and a motor controller 23. For elevation of the cage the desired valve setter is energized and the pump 7 elevates the cage in response to the deviation signal fed to the motor 10, the setter being settable for any desired velocities. For lowering the cage initially the pump 7 is driven in a direction to open the non-return valve 5 whereafter a magnet 14c of a magnetic relay valve 14 is excited and a control unit 14b is actuated so that fluid from the cylinder feed line 4 flows through a control line 13 into the valve 5 to maintain the valve open. After deenergizing the pump motor 10, fluid from the cylinder drives the pump 7 and therefore motor 10 providing a signal for addition to the actual cage velocity signal for comparison with the desired valve setter signal whereupon a braking action of the motor and pump can be applied as the cage reaches its lowest position. The magnetic relay is then returned to rest.
