Abstract
1519975 Settling apparatus DORR-OLIVER INC 6 Aug 1975 [5 Sept 1974] 32836/75 Heading BID In a settling tank 10 a suspension from pipe 23 and flocculant from pipe 26 are mixed by impeller 27 tank 24 located in feed well 25. The resultant mixture overflows tank edge 30 and flows down through well 25 into tank 10. Supernatent is discharged via overflow 15. Sludge is scraped by blades 22 mounted arms 20, 21 extending from shaft 19 rotated by drive 18 on bridge 16, into sump 12 from which it is discharged via pipe 13. Sludge may be returned to pipe 23 through line 32 or directly to tank 24. The tank 24 may have a bottom outlet for discharge of settled solids therefrom.
