Miniature signals and indicators; hand levers.- The setting of the points A to one or other of their extreme positions reverses the direction of current supplied from battery F to the magnet E, which operates a polarized indicator 24 and a non-polarized locking-armature 7 which locks the spindle 6 of the hand-lever 13, the circuit including a track circuit formed by the track rails 28 adjacent to the points, a snap-action reversing switch G operated by the cam-plate 38 connected to the points, and a resistance 45 which is shunted by contacts 46, 47, 49 in the extreme positions of the points. The inclusion in the circuit of this resistance causes the pointer 24 to assume a mid-position, but the armature 7 is not released. A train on the rails 28 de-energizes the magnet E and the armature 7 then looks the spindle 6. The switch G is operated by the bar 43 under the action of springs 42, 42a fitted in the yoke in the bar 43 and engaging a bar 40a which is moved by the cam-plate 38. The bar 44, movable with the camplate, has a projection 44a which engages a projection 43a on the bar 43 except in the extreme positions of the bar 44, and thus allows the bar 40a to compress one or other of the springs 42, 42a until the movement of the cam-plate is completed. The compressed spring then reverses the switch G. The pointer 24 of the indicator is mounted on a long horse-shoe magnet P, the poles of which move between the poles of the magnet E.
