Abstract

1516520 Carbon absorption of uranium hexafluoride BAYER AG 31 Oct 1975 [16 Nov 1974] 45244/75 Heading B1L Uranium hexafluoride is absorbed from a gaseous mixture by contacting with an active carbon derived from a mineral oil and/or fossil coal and having an ash content of 4 to 6% by weight and a benzene output (defined) of from 50 to 60 gm. of benzene/100 gm. of active carbon. Temperatures may range from ambient to 200‹C. The carbon may have been activated with steam and have a grain size of 2 to 6 mm.
