Abstract

1513751 Stripping cables LEE GREEN PRECISION INDUSTRIES LTD 6 May 1975 18920/75 Heading H2C Cable cutting and stripping apparatus comprises a plurality of cutter heads, Fig. 2, wherein blades 14 cut through a layer of a coaxial cable inserted into a cable receiving channel, the depth of cut being adjusted by an annular thrust bearing member 17 which is movable parallel with the cable axis to exert a radial force on bevelled surfaces 15 on the blade supports, and the position of the cut being determined, for example, by a stop in the cable receiving channel. Outer and inner coverings are cut at respective stop positions. A plurality of cutter heads are either mounted side by side or in one embodiment (Figs 3, 4, not shown) are mounted in a rotating turret. The cable being held in a clamp which is slidable along the cable axis and inserted into the cutter heads as they are sequentially brought opposite the cable.
