Abstract
151,291. Gardner, J. Nov. 16,1917. Parcel - carriers, comprising hook constructions as described in Specification 6338/06. [Class 89, Nails &c.]. The wire from which the hooks are made is formed of a cross-section which will provide two or more gripping surfaces. For this purpose a groove b, Fig. 5, may be made in the wire portions g between which the loose end portion of the cord is gripped. One or both legs of the hook may be bent, as at c, to increase the resilience; and one end portion may be bent to lie across the slit e to confine the cord. A double hook forming a loop is shown in Figs. 6 and 7. The loop may connect the ends of a parcel cord, and the body may form a carrying handle. Fig. 8 shows a modification. A construction involving two coils k is shown in Fig. 10. A further modification is shown in Fig. 12.
