Abstract
1512464 Automatic control of engine exhaust NISSAN MOTOR CO Ltd 3 March 1976 [28 March 1975 (2)] 08457/76 Heading G3R In a system for controlling the air/fuel ratio of a multi-cylinder I.C. engine in response to an exhaust gas sensor by constant frequency operation of an electromagnetic valve 34 in an additional air or fuel supply passage 32, the frequency is chosen so that it is higher than that of a piston when the engine is running within a cruising range of speeds, preferably it is also higher than the piston frequency at maximum speed. The pulses are produced by combining an integrated high/low signal representative of engine exhaust with a sawtooth waveform Fig. 2 (not shown). The object is to prevent any one cylinder always receiving a mixture which is too rich or too lean.
