Abstract

1512380 Picture frames ENGRAVING SPECIALISTS (LEICESTER) Ltd 9 Dec 1975 [16 Dec 1974 22 Jan 1975 27 March 1975] 54331/74 2752/75 and 13033/75 Heading A4X A frame for photographs and the like comprises a back panel 12 which is a press fit in a recess 8 of a surround 2 and has slots 16 for engaging a wall hook or a strut 20. The frame is moulded of plastics material, and projections 14 on the panel 12 engage in notches 10 in the surround 2. The slots 16 are serrated at 18 and they may be countersunk in the front surface of the back panel 12. An intermediate panel, e.g. a card, may be interposed between the photograph and the back panel and the back panel may be ribbed on its front face to press the photograph into contact with a clear glass or plastics sheet (not shown). In a second embodiment, Figs. 5 to 7 (not shown), projections (38) on the surround (32) engage in recesses (42) in the back panel. The serrations in each of the slots are replaced by a single notch. Each slot may have a sloping inner edge to facilitate the engagement of a support.
